We are pleased to offer a range of sponsorship opportunities. These sponsorships offer foundations and corporations opportunities to further their missions and philanthropic interests, while increasing their visibility to the charitable community and to our Washington, DC host community.

We invite you to consider a menu of sponsorship packages. You may also work with Independent Sector staff to design a package that meets your needs and interests.

Lead Sponsors ($200,000+)

Independent Sector Conference Lead Sponsors are invited to provide significant conference-wide support of $200,000+ and, in return, will receive substantial recognition leading up to and during the conference and across its various publications and social media platforms.

Independent Sector staff will work with you to create a recognition package that meets your budget, needs, and interests and will include the following:

  • Full page ad on an inside cover of the conference program
  • Logo placement on the conference lanyard
  • Logo placement on the conference tote bag
  • Primary placement on on-site signage
  • Primary placement on conference website
  • Primary placement on conference Hub – Independent Sector’s virtual conference town square, where attendees can read session descriptions, manage schedules, find session materials, and interact with one another,
  • Four conference registrations.

Plenary and Event Leaders ($100,000)

This exclusive circle of sponsors provides significant leadership by sponsoring the plenary gatherings that anchor and define the Independent Sector Conference. Sponsors may choose from the following opportunities:

Opening Plenary Sponsor

The opening plenary session raises critical issues and challenges attendees to act. The 2016 opening plenary will look back at the recently-completed 2016 election and the charitable sector’s engagement with the electorate and presidential candidates. The sponsor of this event will be acknowledged from the podium and have their logo prominently displayed on signage outside the ballroom and on the screens arranged inside.

Opening Reception Sponsor

Showcasing our host city and a unique DC venue, this major networking event will celebrate our nation’s capital and offer attendees a fabulous evening of food, culture, and entertainment. The sponsor will be invited to welcome attendees and introduce the performers who will provide the evening’s entertainment. The sponsor’s logo will be prominently displayed in the reception space.

Awards Ceremony Sponsor

The final conference plenary session honors and celebrates the remarkable contributions of leaders in the philanthropic sector with the John W. Gardner Award and the American Express NGen Leadership Award. Together these awards showcase long careers in public service and emerging voices of promise and impact. The sponsor of this event will be acknowledged from the podium and have their logo prominently displayed on signage outside the ballroom and on the screens arranged inside.

In addition to the event-specific benefits listed above, Plenary and Event Leaders will receive the following:

  • Primary acknowledgement placement with logo in the conference program
  • Logo placement on on-site signage OR inclusion of sponsor-provided branded content or merchandise in attendees’ conference tote bags
  • Logo placement on conference website

Program Sponsors

The Independent Sector Conference prides itself on offering workshops with content tailored to the needs of specific segments of the sector’s professional community. In response to the interests and needs of particular constituencies, we have developed specialized tracks and programs that offer some of the conference’s most sought after content. We invite you to sponsor one of these popular programs and support the important constituencies they serve.

NGen Experience Sponsor ($100,000. Exclusive)

NGen programming offers emerging sector leaders opportunities to connect with other rising stars in their age cohort and develop skills and connections that will support them as they take on leadership roles in the charitable sector. NGen-ers will have several pre-conference opportunities to meet, network, and learn skills to enhance their leadership capacities. These include a special NGen Keynote Luncheon on Tuesday afternoon, followed by a half day of leadership development workshops and an evening reception. Throughout the conference NGen-ers will have access to The NGen Lounge, a dedicated space, where NGen conference attendees can relax, relate and recharge. On Thursday night, a networking reception will offer an additional opportunity to make and strengthen professional connections. The NGen Experience Sponsor will receive two conference registrations, will have the opportunity to welcome attendees at the meals and receptions and will receive prominent acknowledgement of their support in all NGen printed and electronic materials and room signage.

CEO Track Sponsor ($75,000. Exclusive)

Now in its twelfth year, the CEO Track has grown to be one of Independent Sector’s most sought-after conference offerings. Open exclusively to chief executives of Independent Sector member organizations, it provides in-depth, peer-to-peer exchanges concerning special leadership issues and the opportunity to connect with the sector’s most senior leaders and decision makers. The CEO Track Sponsor will receive prominent acknowledgement in all CEO Track printed and electronic materials and two conference registrations.

C-Suite Track Sponsor (Claimed)

The C-Suite Track consists of specially-designed sessions in which senior nonprofit and philanthropic leaders
who report directly to the CEO discuss innovative strategies that promote their growth and the success of their organizations and expand their peer networks. The exclusive sponsor will receive prominent acknowledgement in all C-Suite track printed and electronic materials and two conference registrations.

Public Policy Action Institute Sponsors ($5,000+ Multiple)

Held as a one-and-a-half-day mini-conference on November 15-16, 2016, before the Independent Sector Conference begins, the Public Policy Action Institute offers nonprofit and foundation leaders, policy advocates, and communications specialists effective strategies for getting their mission and message front and center with policymakers. With the Independent Sector’s conference’s return to the nation’s capital following a presidential election, the PPAI will take on particular importance in 2016. Sponsors will receive complimentary PPAI registration (number commensurate with level of support) and prominent acknowledgement of their support in all printed materials and on the PPAI page of the conference website. Levels of support will be distinguished by font size and positioning.

In addition to the specific benefits listed above, Track Sponsors’ logos will receive the following:

  • Logo placement in the conference program, commensurate with sponsorship level

Experience Leaders

The Independent Sector Conference constantly looks for ways to deepen and broaden the impact of its conferences by making use of technology and modes of expression and learning that enhance traditional workshops and presentations. We invite potential sponsors to support these exciting conference enhancements.

Arts Sponsor ($25,000+ Multiple)

Independent Sector believes in the transformative power of the arts to deepen thinking, inform public discourse, and facilitate change. Independent Sector, therefore, incorporates performance and visual arts throughout its conference as a means to facilitate creative thinking and to showcase the nonprofit
arts organizations that enrich our lives. Because of the varied nature of the artistic presentations and venues, Arts Sponsors will be acknowledged on special centrally located on-site signage.

 

The Hub Sponsor ($50,000. Exclusive)

The Hub is Independent Sector’s conference app, with which attendees can read session descriptions, manage schedules, find session materials, and interact with one another. It’s a portable conference that continues long after the closing plenary has ended. The Hub sponsor’s logo will be prominently featured on the HUB splash screen.

In addition to the specific benefits listed above, Experience leaders will receive the following:

Special Reception Sponsors

Throughout the Independent Sector conference, attendees are invited to join in a number of sessions and events designed to deepen their understanding of the sector and facilitate the development of professional relationships. Networking Lunch Sponsor ($40,000. Exclusive)

The Networking Lunch gives attendees the opportunity to connect and meet exhibitors and one another. Featuring lunch and product demonstrations, the Networking lunch is the conference’s number #1 time to set appointments and discussions with colleagues, learn about the latest products and services in the sector, and exchange ideas and strategies surrounding the work of the philanthropic community. The exclusive sponsor’s logo will be featured on on-site signage at the luncheon.

Networking Reception Sponsor ($25,000. Exclusive)

The exclusive sponsor’s logo will be featured on on-site signage at this highly attended networking reception, which takes place during the conference’s busiest day.

C-Suite Reception Sponsor (Claimed)

This reception is the key conference networking opportunity exclusively for C-Suiters – those second-in-command decision-makers who report directly to the CEO. The C-Suite reception complements the C-Suite session track, bringing together senior executives to meet and mingle in a relaxed, social environment. Attendees from across the charitable sector range from Chief Operating Officers, Chief Financial Officers, and Chief Development Officers, to Senior Vice Presidents for Programming, Policy, or Communications. PPAI Networking Reception Sponsor ($25,000. Exclusive)

The premier networking event of the Public Policy
Action Institute gives charitable sector policy wonks the opportunity to share information and experiences in an informal setting and to deepen the relationships that are so critical to coalition advocacy work. The Reception Sponsor’s support will be celebrated on on-site signage at the event.

In addition to benefits listed above, Special Reception Sponsors receive:

Scholarship Sponsors

The vitality of the Independent Sector Conference is enhanced by the diversity of the attendees and the organizations they represent. Each year we enlist support to ensure that dynamic leaders who might otherwise not have the opportunity to participate can do so. Independent Sector is grateful to accept contributions of all sizes, which will be awarded to eligible applicants to cover the costs of travel, lodging and full conference registration, as well as Public Policy Action Institute and NGen Experience expenses.

Benefits to donors will be commensurate with their level of support and will be consistent with those offered elsewhere in this brochure.

Session Sponsors ($10,000. Multiple)

Some of the most intensive learning and relationship building takes place during the individual workshops, sessions, and discussion groups that form the heart of the Independent Sector conference. We invite you to join us in this important work by sponsoring one of the more than 30 content sessions, which highlight key themes such as leadership, collaboration, sector transparency, social mobilization, and impact. Session Sponsors will receive the following benefits:

  • Logo placement on conference website, and

Conference Supporters

The general support of conference Supporters provides much needed funding for a host of conference expenses. Levels of support within this giving circle will be distinguished by font size and positioning and sponsors will receive:

  • Listing in the conference program
  • Listing on the conference website, and
  • Listing on the conference Hub.

Visionary Sponsors

In addition to receiving the benefits outlined in this document, sponsors who complete sponsorship agreements before April 30, 2016 will be celebrated as Visionaries and will also receive the following additional benefits:

  • Early inclusion of your organization’s name and/or logo on the conference website
  • Inclusion of your organization’s name and/or logo in conference promotional e-mails to +26,000 individuals
  • Inclusion of your organization’s name and/or logo in conference promotional e-mails to the constituents of our +20 conference partners, and
